January Monthly Wrap Up (2018)

Off the Blog:

Hey everyone! Well, I can't believe that January has already come and gone! I'm still trying to get used to the fact that it's 2018 now and not 2017! LOL!  Off the blog, not much has really happened, other than just getting some much needed relaxation from the craziness of 2017!  Now, I'm seriously going off on a job search since the last job I was on was only temporary.  So, that means I need to find a job that's permanent.  Wish me luck!

On the Blog:

Even though I haven't read over 10 books for this month like I wanted to, I still managed to read up to 3 books for the month, including one reread.  I think I'll start including the rereads in my book stats for now on since I got a lot of books that I've read in the past that I want to write reviews for and I also just want to have the pleasure of rereading my favorite books again!  Also, I'll be adding in the book genres in the stats below since I want to see how many books I've read from a certain genre and see if it would help me expand on more genres for my future readings. I also started this new section on my monthly wrap ups where I post my favorite blog posts from other blogs since other blogs are doing this and I thought that it was really interesting and I could go back and look back at these posts again!  I also just recently started up a new reading challenge called the Caldecott Medal Challenge where you get to read up on any books that have won the Caldecott Medal! If you are interested in joining this challenge, then sign up here.

  1. Yay for The Martian - that was such a good book. I see a couple of familiar books there in your incoming books so hope you get to enjoy them. Rereads should definitely be counted in your stats.

  2. I haven't read The Martian yet! Shall check out your review :-)
Happy to see you're reading A Monster Calls. I loved that book although it's very emotional.

    Here's my reading roundup

  3. Good luck with the job search! I hope you have a great February!

Aj @ Read All The Things!

  4. Best wishes on the job search. Loved The Martian too. Seeing Red was a good read too.

  5. Good luck with the job hunt, Ronyell! I know how stressful that can be. I am glad though that your start to 2018 has been a bit calmer than your 2017.

I really want to read The Martian. I have seen the movie thinking I would never read the book, but having seen it, I want to. Funny how that worked out. Rereads should definitely be counted!

I hope you have a great February!

  6. I thought The Martian was okay but it seems like most people love it like you did. You had a really busy month on the blog. I hope you find the perfect job very quickly. Have a great February!

  7. I think I might give in and pick up The Martian the next time I see it on display at my bookstore! I do count re-reads because I have many on my list this year so, you definitely should! Hope you have a great week!
