Six Crimson Cranes

Shiori, the only princess of Kiata, has a secret. Forbidden magic runs through her veins. Normally she conceals it well, but on the morning of her betrothal ceremony, Shiori loses control. At first, her mistake seems like a stroke of luck, forestalling the wedding she never wanted, but it also catches the attention of Raikama, her stepmother.

Raikama has dark magic of her own, and she banishes the young princess, turning her brothers into cranes, and warning Shiori that she must speak of it to no one: for with every word that escapes her lips, one of her brothers will die.

Penniless, voiceless, and alone, Shiori searches for her brothers, and, on her journey, uncovers a conspiracy to overtake the throne—a conspiracy more twisted and deceitful, more cunning and complex, than even Raikama's betrayal. Only Shiori can set the kingdom to rights, but to do so she must place her trust in the very boy she fought so hard not to marry. And she must embrace the magic she's been taught all her life to contain—no matter what it costs her.

Oooh! This seems like a retelling of "The Six Swans" and it sounds like a really interesting retelling of the story!  Can't wait to pick this up!

Where It All Lands

By: Jennie Wexler

Expected Publication Date: July 6th, 2021

Stevie Rosenstein has never made a true friend. Never fallen in love. Moved from city to city by her father’s unrelenting job, it’s too hard to care for someone. Trust in anything. The pain of leaving always hurts too much. But she’ll soon learn to trust, to love.

Twice.

Drew and Shane have been best friends through everything. The painful death of Shane's dad. The bitter separation of Drew's parents. Through sleepaway camps and family heartache, basketball games and immeasurable loss, they've always been there for each other.

When Stevie meets Drew and Shane, life should go on as normal.

But a simple coin toss alters the course of their year in profound and unexpected ways.

Told in dual timelines, debut author Jennie Wexler delivers a heartbreaking and hopeful novel about missed opportunities, second chances, and all the paths that lead us to where we are.

Wow!  A new romance book that involves a love triangle.  Usually, I don't care much for love triangles, but this sounds like an interesting read!

The Sunday Post Meme (196)

Hey everybody! I am participating in a book meme called the Sunday Post which is being hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer! The goal of this meme is to share news you have  on various books and things you’ve read or received and also talk about what is coming up for your blog! Book hauls can includHe library books, yard sale finds, arcs and bought books and you can share these finds with other book bloggers!

Hey everyone! HAPPY FATHER'S DAY EVERYONE!  Man, we had a fun time with celebrating both my dad's birthday and Father's Day at the same time!  You see, my dad's birthday comes before Father's Day, so this allowed me to buy at least four presents for my dad: one for Father's Day and the other one for his birthday.  So, he basically gets two parties in one week.  Meanwhile, I had just recently got my CPAC machine to help me breathe better, so I'm trying to get used to wearing a CPAC machine every night.

*So, here are some good things that happened to me recently!

* Finally got my CPAC mask!  I've been trying to get that mask to help me breathe easier for awhile now and I finally got it!  Now, I just need to get used to wearing it every night.

* Celebrated Father's Day with my dad, as well as his birthday and we had lots of delicious food to eat during those days such as Red Lobster and Texas Roadhouse (and they were very delicious)!
