Do you ever go "way back" to when you first started blogging and look at your old review posts? Do you see any differences from then to now?

I have recently been posting some older reviews I've done when I first started doing book reviews in 2008. At the time, I didn't really have a blog to post them on and I was just posting them on Goodreads for the most part. I've managed to look back at some of the older reviews and I've noticed how in some of my reviews, my viewpoints about social issues had changed since 2008, so I will admit that I was a bit ashamed at some of my older reviews and I did tweaked some of them to fit in with how I feel about the current social issues compared to 2008. Also, I've noticed how I usually spoil the entire book for people who haven't read the books yet in my older reviews and compared to nowadays, I try to refrain myself from spoiling the books I've read for people who haven't read the books yet.
Some of my older reviews are bad. :)
ReplyDeleteI never gave spoilers and don't give them now, but I gave a summary instead of opinions.
I now give a teaser and some comments about who would like the book and comments about the characters.
ENJOY your weekend, and Happy Hopping!!

Thanks!
DeleteI read an older review once and couldn't go back and look at them -- it's too painful. Like you, I just used to spoil the good parts with abandon. Good for you for tweaking yours!
ReplyDeleteThat's great that you can see a change and make improvements. Happy Hopping.
ReplyDeleteNice answer! I always publish my reviews first on my blog, then publish them on Goodreads and Amazon.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by! ENJOY your weekend!! <3 :)
I do the exact same thing!

ReplyDeleteYes I know what you mean about having spoilers in your review, because I did the same thing as well in my reviews. I try not too do any spoilers in any books that I read for anybody but sometimes for me it is a little hard to try not too. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog hop Ronyell.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
DeleteThe good thing about looking at old reviews is I discover I've improved at something :)
ReplyDeleteAgree!
