I am participating in a book meme called the Sunday Post which is being hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer! The goal of this meme is to share news you have  on various books and things you’ve read or received and also talk about what is coming up for your blog! Book hauls can includHe library books, yard sale finds, arcs and bought books and you can share these finds with other book bloggers!

Hey everyone!  Well, I'm back to buying books again and it's WONDERFUL!  I haven't been buying books for a long time ever since the pandemic started and it's just nice to finally get some more books again!  The haul I got from Barnes and Noble is fantastic as they are mostly special editions of the books I wanted and I always loved Barnes and Noble's special editions!

One Word: INDEPENDENCE!!!

(NETFLIX)

* I will admit that when I first heard about this movie, I thought that it wasn't going to be that good, but after watching this movie, I actually ended up enjoying it!  I loved the premise of this film, which is basically a heist movie with zombies which was really creative!

(NETFLIX)

* Wow! It's been a long time since I watched anything dealing with R.L. Stine and I was so happy to watch this film at last!  Even though the plot went by too fast and it was a bit too campy, I still had fun with this movie!

(YOUTUBE)

* I seriously need to talk about this movie.  After hearing a fellow YouTuber Steve Reviews review this movie, I just had to check out this movie and man did I LOVED IT!  It's a dark and edgier take on the classic fairy tale "The Pied Piper" and this was seriously one of the most messed up films I have ever seen!  Definitely worth the watch if you love dark and creepy animated films!

How was your Independence Day?

*So, here are some good things that happened to me recently!

* Had a nice barbecue for the 4th of July!  It's always nice to have a nice and tasty barbecue to celebrate the 4th of July!

* Changed the style of my Instagram photos.  For awhile now, I wanted to change up the style of my Instagram photos and I found a style that I really like!  Here's an example of my changed Instagram photos:

Seventeen-year-old Evie Parker is devastated in the wake of her father’s sudden death. But she knows something her mother doesn’t: the day of his heart attack, her dad was planning to move out. After finding his packed bags, an impulsive Evie puts everything away, desperate to spare her mom more heartache.

To make matters worse, Evie soon learns the reason her father was going to leave: he had been dating his twenty-two-year-old receptionist, Bree, who is now six months pregnant. Desperate to distract herself, Evie signs up for a summer photography class where she meets a motley crew of students, including quirky and adorable Declan. Still, Evie can’t stop thinking about her father’s mistress. Armed with a telephoto lens, she caves to her curiosity, and what starts as a little bit of spying on Bree quickly becomes full-blown stalking. And when an emergency forces Evie to help Bree, she learns there’s more to the story than she ever knew…

Alex Richards crafts an addicting and compelling new story about betrayal, complicated family secrets, and getting to the heart of what matters — ultimately asking readers how far they’d be willing to go to unravel the truth.

Oooh! A mystery about betrayal and secrets!  Can't wait to see what secrets the main protagonist will have to face!

Cello prodigy Jenny has one goal: to get into a prestigious music conservatory. When she meets mysterious, handsome Jaewoo in her uncle’s Los Angeles karaoke bar, it’s clear he’s the kind of boy who would uproot her careful plans. But in a moment of spontaneity, she allows him to pull her out of her comfort zone for one unforgettable night of adventure…before he disappears without a word.

Three months later, when Jenny and her mother arrive in South Korea to take care of her ailing grandmother, she’s shocked to discover that Jaewoo is a student at the same elite arts academy where she’s enrolled for the semester. And he’s not just any student. He’s a member of one of the biggest K-pop bands in the world—and he’s strictly forbidden from dating.

When a relationship means throwing Jenny’s life off the path she’s spent years mapping out, she’ll have to decide once and for all just how much she’s willing to risk for love.

Wow!  A romance novel about possibility giving up your future in the name of love!  I would love to see where this goes!
