The Sunday Post Meme (176)

Hey everybody! I am participating in a book meme called the Sunday Post which is being hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer! The goal of this meme is to share news you have  on various books and things you’ve read or received and also talk about what is coming up for your blog! Book hauls can include library books, yard sale finds, arcs and bought books and you can share these finds with other book bloggers!

Hey everyone! I can't believe it's almost the end of July!  I'm getting ready for my Doctor's appointment on Monday and I'm trying to catch up on some shows that I haven't been watching lately.  So, not much has been happening for the week.  But unfortunately, there has been some tragic news that happened this week. Book Blogger Rebel Mommy had just recently passed away from her battle with cancer.  May our hearts go out to her family and friends. She will surely be missed...

One Word: SAD.

(VHS)

* I started rewatching this film again and I love it as much now as I did when I was little! Danielle is such a likable and strong character and she continues to amaze me to this very day!

(NETFLIX)

* So, I finally got the chance to watch the third season of "Stranger Things" and I will admit that I'm not liking the whole "Evil Russians" thing. I just don't like it when a group of people (whether they are Germans, French, Russians, Hispanics, Blacks, Asians, you get the idea) are made the bad guys in most movies or TV shows.  But I do love the character moments between Max and Eleven and the kids in general are just awesome to watch!  Now, I need to finish watching the rest of this season to see how things turn out!

What TV shows or movies have you been watching this week?

  3. Amen about Rebel Mommy. Such tragic news...

Glad you enjoyed Illuminae. And I liked Ever after. I wasn't super crazy about the "evil Russians" thing either is ST3, I thought it was a little over the top and to campy, but it was nice to see the characters again!

    1. RIP Rebel Mommy...

I agree that the whole "Evil Russians" thing is going over the top and I hope they don't do that again in the fourth season.

  8. So sad about Grace... I hate cancer. It takes too many good people, far too soon. My heart goes out to her family.

  9. I'm very sorry to hear about the passing of Grace. She was terribly young and she left young children.

  12. I still need to read Illuminae. Hopefully I'll get to it sooner than later. My husband has also been watching the third season of Stranger Things. My daughter and I have been going through all my movies that she hasn't seen and we haven't done Ever After yet - that'll be next on the list! It's so sad about Grace from Rebel Mommy. I followed her when I first started blogging and still occasionally would hop over there and vice versa. I hope you have a good week! And thanks for stopping by!

  13. The news about Grace was a shocker after I thought that things were going fine based on her positivity from her last tweets. She's a big part of the book blogging community and she will be so missed but remembered.

I feel like I'm the only one who hasn't watched Stranger Things 3 yet. I haven't renewed my Netflix subscription yet and I'm missing out. I miss my shows though but I did that on purpose so I could focus on reading this summer. I can't wait to get back to binge-watching soon so I can also relate to the Stranger Things 3 posts I'm seeing.

  14. Ever After is such a good movie! I saw it a long time ago, and really enjoyed it! I've heard great things about Illuminae, so I'm not surprised it was a 5 star read for you. Have a great week Ronyell!

  15. I loved Ever After when I was younger. I feel like I need to rewatch it soon. Or, you know, immediately. I'm stoked to see you enjoyed Illuminae so much!

It's absolutely devastating knowing that Grace passed away. I do hope her family is doing as okay as they can be.
