The Sunday Post Meme (186)

Hey everybody! I am participating in a book meme called the Sunday Post which is being hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer! The goal of this meme is to share news you have  on various books and things you’ve read or received and also talk about what is coming up for your blog! Book hauls can include library books, yard sale finds, arcs and bought books and you can share these finds with other book bloggers!

Hey everyone!  Man, it's been awhile since I last did a Sunday Post!  I have to tell you, so much has happened these past few months and a lot of them weren't that good.  I won't really go into details about all the drama that's going on in the outside world right now, but 2020 has not been a good year so far.  The virus pandemic, the shootings, everybody is fighting with each other... too many bad things going on right now that I'm just so stressed out by everything.  I just wish that everything would get better by the end of the year, because I'm just reaching my limit with how horrible this year has been so far.

One Word: STRESSED.

(NETFLIX)

* "Project Power" was quite an amazing film for me!  I just loved the city setting of this movie, as well as the theme of people getting superpowers by taking a pill!  All of the actors and actresses have done a fantastic job at acting this film and it's definitely my favorite movie of the year so far!

* "The Babysitter: Killer Queen" was the sequel to "The Babysitter" that I've been waiting for!  I loved watching "The Babysitter" when if first came out and I was hoping that it would get a sequel!  So, I finally saw the sequel and I LOVED IT!  It was just as crazy and awesome as the first movie and I'm hoping that this series gets a third movie soon!

* "Work It" was a really fun dance movie that I really enjoyed and I just loved seeing all the characters dancing throughout this movie!  It's been awhile since I last seen a dance movie and it's great that I got a chance to watch a light-hearted film for once, especially during these stressful times.

* While "Fatal Affair" does have a generic plot line, I still really enjoyed this movie for being really tense and I was hoping that the protagonist would escape her crazy stalker at the end of the movie!

  2. Nice to "see" you again. I agree at how sucky this year has been. And the politics. Eek. I am so distracted by it. I hardly read 10 pages of my book a day, I swear. My Sunday Salon post

    1. Same here. I barely have time to read anymore because of everything that's going on. Hopefully things will get better soon.

  3. I am with you. My anxiety has anxiety and the closer we get to November 4th and every covid report and news report freakz me out. Hugs.

  4. Yep, I'm right there with all of you. I try to stay away from the constant bombardment of news but when I take a peek I walk away feeling like I've been physically attacked. And I just saw that yet another tropical storm may be developing in our Gulf of Mexico. Sigh.

My solution, reading-wise, is a diet of a lot of junk food reads with an occasional healthy food book. I try to focus on things I can actually do something about rather than just reading about how terrible things are. Plus a lot of prayer.

I am glad to see you back blogging.
