The Sunday Post Meme (189)

Hey everybody! I am participating in a book meme called the Sunday Post which is being hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer! The goal of this meme is to share news you have  on various books and things you’ve read or received and also talk about what is coming up for your blog! Book hauls can include library books, yard sale finds, arcs and bought books and you can share these finds with other book bloggers!

Hey everyone! Man, 2020 has been a crazy year so far!  But one of the good things that happened recently was the results of the election!  Now, I don't want to dive too deep into politics (because I don't want to deal with the unnecessary drama attached to it), but I'm so glad that the election turned out the way it did!  Hopefully, this will mean that the country will get back on the right track and that we won't have to deal with so much drama from this point forward.  And on the book front, I managed to finish reading "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" and I still enjoy that book as much as I did when I read it years ago!  I just loved Stephen Gammell's creepy illustrations and the stories still hold up to this day!  So hopefully, I will get back into reading books once again!

One Word: ELECTION!!!

(HULU)

* So, I finally got back to watching Hulu movies again and one of the most recent movies I've seen was "Bad Hair!"  I LOVED this movie!  It was such an interesting horror film about the main character getting a weave for her hair and it turns out that her weave is actually an evil being that kills people!  Such an interesting premise!

(NETFLIX)

* This was a really cute and beautifully animated film!  I loved the fact that this film takes place in China and I loved the plot line about the main character losing her mother and she has to deal with having a new family.  I loved the characters and the crazy world they lived in and I hope to watch this movie again someday!

(NETFLIX)

* I was actually surprised by how much I really enjoyed this movie!  Millie Bobby Brown did a fantastic job in her role as Enola Holmes and I really enjoyed seeing Sherlock Holmes in this movie!  Definitely a fun movie to watch if you love Sherlock Holmes!

Are you waiting for 2020 to end?

*So, here are some good things that happened to me recently!

* Of course, the elections was surprisingly positive (which is saying something).  Here's to hoping that things turn around for this country soon!
* I got lots of new books from authors, which is always a plus in my book!  I would like to thank the authors for providing me free books to read!
* And lastly, I'm finally buying books again!  I haven't been buying books for awhile because of the pandemic.  But, I was able to spare some change and buy me a couple of awesome books for the past few weeks!

  3. The election result is fabulous.
I’m not terribly eager for 2020 to end honestly as my second oldest is leaving home to attend university next year. However I’m hoping 2021 will be a great more normal year for her sake.

Wishing you a great reading week

  4. Wow, you've had a big week and it looks like it was a good one! Enola Holmes was a fun movie. I found out it is based on a book series. I honestly don't know what to expect in 2021 but as I'm working in healthcare I know that we are not done with the coronavirus yet. One day at a time.

    1. I agree. It would probably be awhile before the virus dies down. But I hope it does soon.

  7. I feel the same way about the election. I just hope everything starts to calm down but it doesn't seem like it will.

Thank you for your kind words about the loss of my kitty. I appreciate it very much.

Hope you have a great week!

  8. Wasn't Over the Moon great? We really liked it too. And the Enola Holmes movie was better than I expected too. :-) I was relieved by the election results too. Now just to survive through the next couple months . . . Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark sounds like so much fun. I hope you have a great week, Ronyell!

  11. I think I was hit by the nope satellite this week too, my carefully crafted schedule has gone to pot!

I’m glad Biden got in but I’m horrified by the fact Trump seems to have been on the golf course since the election, he still has a country to run.
