Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme that was formerly created at The Broke and the Bookish but has now moved to That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week's top 10 Tuesday topic is Top 10 Books on my TBR that were written before I was born (or I wasn't here when they made these books)!
Hey everyone! So, books that were written before I was born...can I say that the award goes to...ALL OF THEM? Sure, I read a couple of classic books when I was in school, but what about those old school books that were written before my time that I ACTUALLY WANTED TO READ?
So, here are my top 10 Books on my TBR that were written before I was born (in no particular order of course)!
1. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald (Published in 1925)
2. Watchmen by Alan Moore (Published in 1987)
3. William Wilson by Edgar Allan Poe (Published in 1839)
4. The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum (Published in 1900)
5. Mulga Bill's Bicycle by A.B. Paterson (Published in 1973)
6. The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde (Published in 1890)
7. A Giraffe and a Half by Shel Silverstein (Published in 1964)
8. The Canterville Ghost by Oscar Wilde (Published in 1887)
9. The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck (Published in 1939)
10. Bunnicula by Deborah Howe and James Howe (Published in 1979)
Someday I should read The Picture of Dorian Gray.

ReplyDeleteI read #s 1,4,6,9. 's 2,5,7,10 are younger than me. But there are a few interesting ones among those I haven't read, so thank you for that.
And thanks for visiting my TTT earlier.
I love Steinbeck

Steinbeck is a favorite. The Grapes of Wrath is on my list, too. Read it back in high school and want to read it again!
ReplyDeleteGreat list! My sister loved Bunnicula growing up. And it's hard to beat Fitzgerald or Wilde.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI love all the Bunnicula books and read them multiple times as a child. I think my daughter will love them too. And Gatsby is hands-down one of my fave books of all time.
ReplyDeleteGreat Gatsby is on my TBR as well. Great list!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI love The Great Gatsby. I should read The Canterville Ghost. It sounds good!
ReplyDeleteI remembered watching the Canterville Ghost on TV one time and liking it. It's been awhile since I last heard of that story though.
DeleteOh my gosh, Bunnicula (and all related books in that series) is the best. I love to see it.
ReplyDeleteCool! I need to read that series soon!
