Top Ten Tuesday #52: Top 10 Books to Get You in the Mood for School!


Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish.


This week's top 10 Tuesday topic is is a back to school freebie and I have decided to do a topic on "Top 10 Books to get you in the mood for School!" With all the "forced" required reading we had to do in school, it feels good to have some books that you can just pick out on your own and read them to get you in the mood for school!

So here's my top 10 Books to get you in the mood for School (in no particular order, of course)!


1.  The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins





If you want a book that is full of RAW ACTION and some serious GRITTY VIOLENCE, then "The Hunger Games" will definitely get you pumped up for school!


2.  Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead







A book that's set in an academy where the VAMPIRES go?  What a great read for all of you paranormal romance fans!

3. Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins





For those of you who want a contemporary romance that is full of all kinds of GOOD, CUTE and CUDDLY feels, "Lola and the Boy Next Door" is one book that will make you feel all good inside in time for school!


4. Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery






For all of you fans who want a good old classic that represented that BEAUTY and WONDER of school, "Anne of Green Gables" is definitely one school read that deserves a spot on this list!

5.  Easy by Tammara Webber




Want to learn to protect yourself against unwanted sexual advances in school?  Then definitely pick up "Easy" while also getting in on some of that GOOD OLE romance!


6. The Chocolate War by Robert Cormier






Get into the spirited of banned books by reading one of the most CONTROVERSIAL yet ICONIC school reads of all time, "The Chocolate War!"


7.  Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta






A book about a girl going to an all boys school?  The possibilities of reading such a story is so ENDLESS!


8.  The Piper's Son by Melina Marchetta





The continuation to one of the most beloved RAW contemporary romances out there is definitely worth the read in time for school!



9.  Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta







Aaahhh....the wonders of experiencing your FIRST LOVE and uncovering the mysteries of your PAST. Not bad for a school read, huh?



10. Unearthly by Cynthia Hand





Want a book where ANGELS go to school and fight to save the world?  Then "Unearthly" is one book that will get in the mood!

  2. I love Vampire Academy, I definitely agree it gets you in the mood for school! I've been wanting to read Anne of Green Gables for a while, maybe back to school time is the best time. Great post!

  6. This is a great list, Ronyell! I really enjoyed the Hunger Games books. I have still yet to read Anne of Green Gables. One of these days, perhaps. I hope you are enjoying your weekend!
