The Sunday Post Meme (143)

Hey everybody! I am participating in a book meme called the Sunday Post which is being hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer! The goal of this meme is to share news you have  on various books and things you’ve read or received and also talk about what is coming up for your blog! Book hauls can include library books, yard sale finds, arcs and bought books and you can share these finds with other book bloggers!

Hey everyone! I had yet another slow week as I just binged watched a lot of "shark" horror films (yes, I watched a couple of Sharknado movies while I was at it).  I also started my monthly Amazon book buying again and I'm still waiting for my books to arrive! *Sigh* It's so hard to wait for your books to arrive on your doorsteps!

(NETFLIX)

* I just finished watching this exciting anime series and I can't believe that I have never seen this series until just now! I just love the main character Rin as he's such a hilarious and intense character and I'm currently watching the "Kyoto Saga" on Hulu!

(NETFLIX)

* Another old school series that I'm rewatching again! I used to watch this show all the time on PBS and I'm glad that I'm able to rewatch it again on Netflix!

(NETFLIX)

* Wow! This was quite an interesting movie that I just checked out on Netflix!  It's about a boy who discovers that his babysitter is actually apart of a cult that tries to kill people to get their blood!  I actually really ENJOYED this movie, even if it's obvious that it's so CAMPY!!

(NETFLIX)

* This is another Lego series that I remembered enjoying a lot when I first watched it.  Now it's time rewatch this series and feel that nostalgia again!

(NETFLIX)

* Here I go watching another British crime series again!  This is obviously an old school classic and now I'm into season 6 of this series!  Now I have another mystery series to watch for the weekend!

(DVD)

* I think I might post this one every week because this was a HUGE childhood favorite of mine and I was so happy that Rabbit Ears was able to get a DVD version of this tale!  Basically, it's based off an old Russian folktale called "The Fool of the World and the Flying Ship" and it had Robin Williams narrating this tale!  It's definitely worth rewatching over and over again!

(DVD)

* Another story I really enjoyed from the folks over at Rabbit Ears! It's an Indian folktale about a brahmin accidentally releasing a tiger from its cage and the tiger tried to eat the brahmin!  It's such an enjoyable story to watch on DVD and one I will keep rewatching every week!

Do you have lazy weeks too?

  4. Been meaning to rewatch Jaws and maybe a more updated shark film like The Shallows.

  5. I think Jaws are the only shark movies I have ever seen. I am familiar with the Sharknado franchise, but I have never seen them.

    1. The Sharknado franchise is one of those franchises that it's "so bad it's good" kind of thing.

  6. The Babysitter looks like a lot of fun! I'll have to check it out. And I think I've only seen parts of a sharknado movie, never the whole thing. I should binge them!

  7. ooo I love British crime dramas. Also, I can't wait for books or find places to put them or remember to haul them with me on trips so I went all digital all the time. No waiting, except for library books I requested. Anne - Books of My Heart

  8. Only 4 out of 5 stars for Great Day for Up? It’s a classic. And the vocabulary is such that anyone can read it.

    Just my two cents!

    1. I actually enjoyed the story of Great Day for Up. I just think that the artwork didn't fit the story.

  9. I loved The Babysitter. It caught me off guard. And I've watched all of the Sharknado movies. Can't help myself. LOL I binged a bunch of shark horror too. It's the time for it with Shark Week. I just had a lazy week. But with all of the swimming, books and watching the telly I should be tired.

    1. Oh! I forgot it's Shark Week! That's probably why I've been seeing many shark movies lately!

  10. I hope the books get to you quickly. I’m always impatient while waiting for new books, which is ridiculous because I have about 60 unread ones sitting on my shelf. Have a good week!

  12. I loved the Ninjago cartoons. That was one of my kiddo's obsessions last year and Christmas was all about the Ninjago Lego. 🙄
We're currently working our way through the How To Train Your Dragon: Race To The Edge cartoons and they're really fun! (Netflix also.)
    Have a good week!
