Teaser Tuesday #1: An Old School Classic!

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of ShouldBe Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Title: Anne of Green Gables

Author: L.M. Montgomery

Year Published: 1983

Publisher: Grosset & Dunlap

Genre: Classic, Childhood, Fantasy

Reading Level: Middle Grade

Synopsis:

Everyone's favorite redhead, the spunky Anne Shirley, begins her adventures at Green Gables, a farm outside Avonlea, Prince Edward Island. When the freckled girl realizes that the elderly Cuthberts wanted to adopt a boy instead, she begins to try to win them and, consequently, the reader, over.

"Oh, Mrs. Lynde, please, please, forgive e.  If you refuse, it will be a lifelong sorrow to me.  You wouldn't' like to inflict a lifelong sorrow on a poor little orphan girl, would you, even if she had a dreadful temper?  Oh, I am sure you wouldn't.  Please say you forgive me, Mrs. Lynde."

"When twilight drops her curtain down,
And pins it with a star,
Remember that you have a friend
Though she may wander far."
I'm really enjoying this book so far!  Anne is such an endearing character and I can't wait to read more adventures about her!

Do you have a book that you are currently reading that you would like to show to everyone else?  Please feel free to post your Teaser Tuesday in the comments below and I'll check them out!
