Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at TheBroke and the Bookish.
Each week there’s a different Top Ten
list. It’s a great way to find and connect with other awesome bloggers.
So today’s Top Ten Tuesday theme is my top 10 Marvel / DC graphic novel covers, which I had the time spent on looking over my favorite graphic novels from Marvel and DC and adoring their covers!
So, here's my top 10 best Marvel / DC graphic novel covers!
10. Batman: The Long Halloween
Tim Sale's artwork on the cover of this novel was awesome! I just loved the way that everything is colored in blue and I also loved how menacing Batman looks as his famous cape just hovers over the characters beneath him.
There are actually two versions of this cover, but my favorite cover has to be with Superman flying towards the readers as his friends are watching him fly off from below the ground.
This cover is amazing as it has all of the X-Men members from the 1980s looking tough and fierce as we are about to see something really frightening and intense unfold in this storyline!
7. Astonishing X-Men: Dangerous
Joss Whedon's run on "Astonishing X-Men" was just amazing overall and one of my favorite covers from his run was the one of the six main X-Men (Colossus, Kitty Pryde, Wolverine, Beast, Cyclops, and Emma Frost) standing in a fierce stance while a red sky hovers above them.
Another fantastic cover from Joss Whedon's run on "Astonishing X-Men" as all of the X-Men members come together to fight a huge battle ahead of them, which makes this cover look so epic!
5. Batman: The Black Mirror
With Dick Grayson replacing Bruce Wayne in this run of "Batman," his appearance makes him look truly intimidating and it was awesome seeing the many bats fly around underneath Batman's cape as it makes him look like something that came out of the underworld!
Frank Miller's hit comic book series, "The Dark Knight Returns" really cause Batman's rise in popularity and the cover that shows Batman jumping in the sky with lightning in the sky really echoed the awesomeness of this story!
This is easily one of the most epic X-Men stories ever created and the cover of Wolverine and Kitty Pryde looking on in horror while a wanted poster of the previous X-Men members show up in the background really gave this cover so much relevance to the X-Men stories!
Easily one of the best Joker origin tales ever told, this cover truly made this story iconic with the Joker taking a picture of the audience and saying "smile" while an evil grin plays on his face!
1. X-Men: The Dark Phoenix Saga
Easily one of the best X-men stories ever told, having a cover where Jean Grey is crushing the X-Men logo while the rest of the X-Men are lying on the ground defeated, has really brought a shocking twist to the famous X-Men franchise!
