Fairy Tale and Folktale Fridays #35: The Talking Eggs

Hey there!  Welcome to "Fairy Tale and Folktale Fridays," a new feature on my blog where I discuss about some fairy tales and folktales I have read throughout the years. 

The Talking Eggs

The story starts off with a young girl named Blanche who was often treated cruelly by her mother and her sister Rose as they force her to do all the housework and insult her at every given chance.  One day however, when Blanche ends up helping an old woman she met in the woods, the old woman decided to invite Blanche to stay at her house and it was there that Blanche started to notice that the old woman actually had magic powers and ended up rewarding Blanche for her kindness through a set of some magical eggs that contains vast amounts of riches.  When Blanche's sister and mother finds out about Blanche's good fortune, the mother decided to send Rose to the old woman's house so that she may receive the same treasures that Blanche received.

I have really enjoyed this story!  It's like a nice Cinderella retelling that takes place in Southern America about how a young girl ends up getting rewarded for her kindness!  I have always loved stories where the protagonist gets rewarded for their kindness as it shows children the importance of being kind towards other people.  I especially loved the idea about the eggs being used as ways to give people gifts as all you have to do is just open them up and gold and riches come out of the eggs!

1. Do you enjoy Cinderella retellings?

I definitely enjoy reading books that are retellings of "Cinderella," especially since "Cinderella" is one of my all time favorite fairy tales!

2. Was there a time where you were kind to a stranger and you got rewarded for your efforts?

Yes, there were many moments where I was kind to a stranger and got rewarded for it, whether I get a free meal because they offered to pay for my meal or getting free tickets to a play or concert.

☀Daily Book Chat #32:☀ Personal Book Shops...Do you own one?

 Hello everyone! Welcome to my  ☀Daily Book Chat☀ where I do some SERIOUS discussions that fellow book fans will get a kick out of and relate their thoughts about the subject to other book fans!

Today's discussion question is Personal Book Shops...Do you own one?

Well, the day has finally come... I now officially own my own Society 6 book shop!

(YAAAAYYY)!!

I never would have thought that I, little ole Rabbitearsblog, would actually go out of my way to create a shop where I can sell off my designs that are mostly based off of book quotes (although I'm towing the line about whether or not I should also include movies, TV shows and video game inspired designs to the mix too).


Why did I decided to create my own book shop, you ask?  Is it because I wanted MONEY and making AWESOME designs would help me get laid with money in the long run? Or is it because I wanted to spread my BOOK LOVE to fellow readers by creating designs that expresses my LOVE for books?  Well, it's a bit of both: I do need the MONEY to buy more books, but I also wanted to support the book community by creating designs that deals with books and letting everyone check out the designs. 

I was also inspired to start my own book shop because of ETSY, since I tend to buy a lot of AWESOME bookish items from my fellow readers' shops!  Some of my favorite book shops over at Etsy are Bookish Signs, Bookbookowl and BookNookCandles !

Personally, I enjoy having a personal book shop because I want to spread the love of reading through merchandises and other items (although, who can possibly beat the MAGIC of just reading a good ole fashioned book)? 

So, let's support the book community by supporting EVERYONE who have their own book shops whether it be from Etsy, Society6 or any other shop!

Hey everyone! HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!  I know it has been awhile since I last did a Sunday Post, but I was so busy during the holidays that I just didn't have enough time to make a lot of blog posts.  Well, I'm going to remedy that this year by posting as many blog posts as I can!  I hope everyone had a great start to the New Year so far.  I certainly did as I finally passed my driver's test!! * YAASSS!!!! I finally got the chance to watch this show!! I've been trying to watch this show like forever, but I never had the time to do so.  Now, I finally watched both the first and second seasons of this show and I LOVED IT!  There's just so much mystery and horror in this show that I was literally sitting on the edge of my seat trying to see how the characters will get out of the dangerous situations that they get into.  I can't wait for the third season to premiere this year!
