"What an astonishing piece of work. Beautiful and moving." —Neil Gaiman

We Called Them Giants is a story of communication across a chasm at the end of the world.

Lori wakes to find the streets empty. Everyone has gone. Or at least, nearly everyone. She’s thrown into a world where she has to scrape by in the ruins of civilization, nearly starving, hiding from gangs when …

They arrive.

The award-winning team behind dark fantasy smash DIE release their first stand-alone original graphic novel.

It's been awhile since I last featured a graphic novel here.  But, this graphic novel sounds really exciting to read!

Darkly

By: Marisha Pessl

Expected Publication Date: November 26th, 2024

Buy on:   Amazon (Hardcover)
           Amazon (Kindle)

A must-read thriller that will keep you guessing until the very last page from the New York Times bestselling author of Night Film.

There’s nothing special about Dia Gannon. So why was she chosen for an opportunity everyone would kill for?

“Pessl is gargantuan: wildly smart, extremely surprising, a wordsmith, a queen. Read her.” —E. Lockhart, #1 New York Times bestselling author of We Were Liars

Arcadia “Dia” Gannon has been obsessed with Louisiana Veda, the game designer whose obsessive creations and company, Darkly, have gained a cultlike following. Dia is shocked when she’s chosen for a highly-coveted internship, along with six other teenagers from around the world. Why her? Dia has never won anything in her life.

Darkly, once a game-making empire renowned for its ingenious and utterly terrifying toys and games, now lies dormant after Veda’s mysterious death. The remaining games are priced like rare works of art, with some fetching millions of dollars at auction.

As Dia and her fellow interns delve into the heart of Darkly, they discover hidden symbols, buried clues, and a web of intrigue. Who are these other teens, and what secrets do they keep? Why were any of them really chosen? The answers lie within the twisted labyrinth of Darkly—a chilling and addictive read by Marisha Pessl.

This summer will be the most twisted Darkly game of all.

Oooh!  A book all about games!  I can't wait to check this book out soon!

The Sunday Post Meme (235)

Hey everybody! I am participating in a book meme called the Sunday Post which is being hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer! The goal of this meme is to share news you have  on various books and things you’ve read or received and also talk about what is coming up for your blog! Book hauls can include library books, yard sale finds, arcs and bought books and you can share these finds with other book bloggers!

Hey everyone!  So, you are probably wondering about where I have been for the last few weeks.  Well, my laptop broke down and I wasn't able to get online for several weeks because of it.  Right now, I'm using my dad's computer at the moment until my laptop gets fixed.  But I think it's time to get a new laptop.  Unfortunately, I don't have the funding to do so and I'm trying to find ways to get some more funding to get a brand-new laptop.  Does anyone have any advice on how to get more funding for a new laptop?

One Word: FRUSTRATED!!!

(HBO MAX)

* I finally checked out this movie and man, was this movie even better than I thought it was!  I actually wasn't going to watch this movie at first, because it's about war and I don't like war movies.  But, this film was quite different from other war movies and it's probably one of my favorite films of the year!

(HBO MAX)

* I rarely watch films directed by M. Night Shyamalan and this movie just so happened to be on my radar. Man, I really enjoyed this movie! It's really different from Shyamalan's other movies as it's not a horror movie and it doesn't really have a plot twist. But, this movie was pretty enjoyable to watch!

Do you have problems with your laptops or computers?

*So, here are some good things that happened to me recently!

* Since my laptop has broken down, I've managed to take some time off to catch up on movies and TV shows that I've been missing out on this year.  So, that's a definite plus!
