The Sunday Post Meme (59)

Hey everybody! I am participating in a book meme called the Sunday Post which is being hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer! The goal of this meme is to share news you have on various books and things you’ve read or received and also talk about what is coming up for your blog! Book hauls can include library books , yard sale finds, arcs and bought books and you can share these finds with other book bloggers!

Hello everyone!  Halloween is just around the corner, but unfortunately, I have to work on Halloween.  But on the other hand, that just gives me a chance to watch my favorite Halloween movies like "Hocus Pocus," "Scooby Doo on Zombie Island" and the "Nightmare Before Christmas" for most of that day, so it's not a total loss for me!  Also, this month's been going very well for me in terms of reading since I was able to get in a few good books for October, so I'm really excited to see how many books I can read in November!

  2. Sounds like a fun way to spend Halloween. I have to work, then I'm hibernating for the rest of the day and watching movies:) Those are some fun titles and covers for. Happy Halloween:)

  3. Ow I loooooove Hocus Pocus. Too bad you have to work though! I have to work to, but that’s normal because Halloween isn’t so big here! I hope you still have a great day.
    Happy Reading!

  4. With Halloween on a Monday this year, I guess a lot of us will be working, but it's awesome that you can watch Halloween movies at work! I'll be working in the morning (I'm self-employed), then getting ready for trick-or-treaters. I'm going to watch Poirot solve a mystery in "Hallowe'en Party."

    Have a happy Halloween!

    1. Ooh! Poirot! It's great that you are self employed! What do you do for your job?

    2. I create indexes for (nonfiction) books. It's usually interesting, often intellectually challenging, and on very rare occasions, deadly boring. I mostly work on scholarly books -- a lot of history, sociology, political science, biography, and the like. It's one of the reasons my leisure-reading choices are often pretty light: I need a break from all the close analysis of challenging texts.

  5. All excellent Halloween movies, so a thon before work isn't a bad thing. Glad you are getting lots of reading in! Have a wonderful week :)

  6. Halloween isn't a big deal here (New Zealand) no matter what the retailers tell us, but I'm hoping to persuade spawn to watch The Nightmare Before Christmas with me today - lol. Have a great week!

  13. That's too bad about having to work on Halloween! We are having to do some juggling to make it work too. I was just thinking the other day that it's been ages since I've watched any good Halloween movies! Mo Willems is a favorite around here and that one looks so fun! Have a great week!

  15. I work Tues-Sat, so this is the first Halloween I don't have to work in awhile. But I don't really celebrate.

  16. Love Nimona and everything Mo Willems has ever done. I teach, so Halloween on a Monday is pretty much my worst nightmare.

  17. I hope that you had a good movie night last night. We had a good night of family and trick or treating with my granddaughter.
Isn't is wonderful to finish a month with the feeling that you had a good reading month. I, on the other hand, am struggling to get the time with my reading that I would like. I am believing for November.
